Ewa Braun's Villa in Pobierowo

« Back

Some say Ewa Brown, the Hitler’s wife, lived here in 1940’s, others say that was not the case.
The fact is that in Pobierowo there is a villa called the house of Ewa Braun and it is gladly visited by tourists, generally, the German ones.
Today, everybody can come there, but in 1940’s the place was guarded by soldiers, who made sure Ewa Braun could take her peaceful and secure rest.
Did Hitler visit here here? There are such ones who claim he did... One thing is certain – in the nearby village of Międzywodzie, in the still existing „Laguna” holiday center, there were two houses occupied by the air marshal, Hermann Goering.
Supposedly, it was him, who arranged meetings of young E. Braun with Hitler who was staying there.
After the wall, the villa was used as a workers’ holiday house. Inside, only a piece of the original fireplace remained.

How to get there?
Go west along Grunwaldzka street up to its end. Having crossed Wspólna street, you will see a sign-post on your right, showing the way to the life-guard station. Pass it by, and after less than a hundred meters, you will see a transformer station, standing at the edge of forest.
The house of Ewa Braun stands on the opposite side of the street to a new residential area. Turn to the forest, following the path by the transformer station, and there you are!
